March 2022 Virtual Luncheon

You are invited to our VIRTUAL luncheon on Thursday, March 31st at 12:00pm!

PLEASE NOTE: This meeting is taking place on the fourth Thursday of this month rather than the normal third Thursday.

We will hear from guest speaker, Carolyn Colleen, Owner of Acton Midwest and Founder of Fierce Academy.
Carolyn Colleen is a fierce mother of three children, author, international speaker, entrepreneur, and business strategist focused on helping others achieve their goals.

Carolyn is the founder of the FIERCE Academy, an online program that helps women create life strategies that enable them to have the life they dream of without sacrificing their families, careers, or lifestyles. She is also the author of F.I.E.R.C.E.: Transform Your Life in the Face of Adversity, 5 Minutes at a Time!

Carolyn is the owner of Acton Midwest private schools, where the philosophy is clear thinking which leads to good decisions, Good decisions lead to the right habits, The right habits lead to character and Character becomes destiny, a consultant and thought leader for Case Western Reserve University as a leader within the Xchange approach, an initiative built upon a scientifically based, multi-disciplinary approach for leading and managing teams. In addition, she is currently publishing a second book focused on academic entrepreneurism and is the Executive Director of 1Life Fully Lived, a nonprofit organization that provides people of all backgrounds the tools to achieve success.

With a soon-to-be Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership and Behavior, an MBA, and a BA in Business, Carolyn understands the importance of traditional education. She is passionate about uniting as a human race to elevate each other, remain positive through challenges, and rise above the noise to build stronger communities.

As a dynamic and innovative workplace leader, Carolyn has worked as a Program Manager and Business Development Consultant at Gundersen Health System, Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, Account Management Executive for Gensler, and a Client Service Executive at UBS Financial Services. She knows how to transition people and processes to achieve the next level of success while also aligning with organizational objectives.

Dear Women in Business Member and Supporter:

Due to the current COVID situation, our Board of Directors has decided not to hold our in-person Annual WIB Holiday Boutique this year. Instead, we have decided to host an Online Holiday Basket Auction. We are very excited about this new format of fundraiser and know we can count on our members to continue with the amazing support of this new venture!

We are looking for donations of baskets from you, our members, and supporters. Would you and/or your business be willing to donate a basket for our auction? We would request that the items in the basket be at least $25 retail value. We would encourage you to include your business card in the basket with the hopes of receiving future business due to your generous donation to our fundraiser. We will announce each basket on our Facebook page with a link to your website and/or Facebook page. Each item would have a picture on the Auction site,, with a description of the items included, provided by the donor of the basket.

Does this sound like something you would like to be part of this Holiday season? We would love to highlight you and/or your business in our first-ever Online Holiday Basket Auction. Please let us know if you are interested in participating by October 27th. Please email with what your basket will contain and when you would like to drop it off. get the Auction site set up for the November 14th start date. We will take pictures of the baskets for the website. We need to collect all of the baskets by November 7th in order to The auction will run through November 28th with a basket pick up being held on Thursday, December 2nd.
